The latest appointments, moves and personnel changes in Asia-Pacific wealth management.
Allspring Global Investments
Allspring
Global Investments, a global asset manager
with more than $611 billion in assets under advisement, has
appointed Jeremy Gordon as head of sales for Australia and New
Zealand.
Gordon, who is based in Sydney, where the firm is opening its first office in Australia, will report to Andy Sowerby, head of the International Client Group at Allspring.
With more than 25 years of experience in the funds management industry, Gordon spent more than 17 years at Challenger Investment Management, including leading institutional sales and client service for Challenger Life, and Fidante affiliate Ardea Investment Management.
This appointment follows Allspring’s recent partnership with Bennelong Funds Management, through which the Allspring Global Income Fund was launched for Australian investors via a local Australian Unit Trust.
Blackstone
Blackstone has
appointed Kimberly Kim as a senior managing director and head of
Asia-Pacific insurance institutional client solutions for
Blackstone Credit & Insurance, or BXCI.
The role is a newly formed one, US-listed Blackstone said in a statement.
Kim brings more than 20 years of experience in the APAC insurance market. Prior to Blackstone, she was with BlackRock as head of financial institutions coverage in APAC.
Blackstone manages more than $250 billion of insurance client capital across private credit, liquid credit, and other strategies, rising 20 per cent year-over-year, and $484 billion in corporate and real estate credit assets.
Trumpeting its APAC growth, BXCI said it has committed to more than 20 deals in the region over the last three years, and doubled its headcount with hires across Sydney, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
Eastspring Investments
Eastspring
Investments, the $275 billion asset management business of
Prudential, has appointed Ioannis Kampouris as head of
quantitative strategies.
Kampouris, who is based in Singapore, will report to Vis Nayar, chief investment officer of Eastspring Investments.
Previously, he worked at HSBC Asset Management in the UK, where
he served as co-head of quantitative equity strategies and
oversaw the firm’s global quantitative capability. Kampouris
holds an MSc in computational statistics and machine
learning from University College London and an MEng in computer
engineering and informatics from the University of Patras,
Greece.
